What size daybed should I choose for my room?

Our daybeds are available in three standard mattress sizes. Small single (overall 206cm x 79cm) works well in compact spaces or children's rooms. Standard single (206cm x 94cm) is our most popular size, providing comfortable sleeping whilst still being room-efficient. Small double (206cm x 124cm) offers more lounging space and works as a sofa replacement. If these don't suit your space, we can create a bespoke size. Just provide either your mattress dimensions or the overall daybed size you need, and we'll build accordingly.

Can I use my existing mattress?

Yes, we can build your daybed to fit your existing mattress. Simply provide us with your mattress dimensions (length, width and depth if known) when requesting a quote, and we'll create the daybed to perfectly accommodate it. This is particularly useful if you've found a specific mattress you love or want to reuse an existing mattress. Our bespoke manufacturing process means we can match any standard or non-standard mattress size.

What's the difference between open end and standard style?

The open end style (no additional cost) has sides and a back but one end is left open, creating more space for taller sleepers to stretch out. You can choose whether the left or right end is open. The standard style features sides, a back and two ends, creating a more enclosed, sofa-like appearance. Both styles function equally well, so the choice depends on your height, room layout and aesthetic preference.

Do I need the pull-out trundle or cupboard?

This depends on your needs. The pull-out trundle bed provides an additional sleeping space perfect for guests or siblings, though you'll need to purchase a separate mattress for it. The pull-out cupboard offers valuable storage for bedding, toys or clothes, maximising the use of space under the daybed. Many customers choose one or the other based on whether they prioritise occasional extra sleeping capacity or everyday storage. Both options slide out smoothly on the same mechanism.

What finishes are available for daybeds?

All our daybeds come with a clear varnish finish as standard, showcasing the natural beauty of the solid redwood and providing protection against everyday wear. This is included in the base price. If you prefer a coloured finish, we offer an extensive range including wood stains (Very Red Mahogany, Light Oak, Dark Walnut), painted colours (Sage Green, Duck Egg, Mustard) and classic whites and greys.
